By Gavin Hollingshead
Crowder College put on its 6th annual Wellness Week at each of its campuses. Each campus had its own activities and booths in order to share the 8 degrees of wellness, Occupational, Environmental, Emotional, Financial, Spiritual, Physical, Mental, and Social Wellness, with students and staff. I talked to Jamie Ward of the Wellness Week committee to find out the who, what, when, and why.
Jamie Ward of the student affairs office and on the Wellness Week committee
“Why is Crowder College putting on Wellness week?” “It’s the 6th year of Wellness week and it’s happening at every Crowder campus; each campus does their own events in order to provide students with information and resources on wellness.”
“Who is Wellness Week for?” “Wellness week is for any students and staff looking for resources for wellness, to connect socially, or to just better their wellness.”
“How were the businesses chosen to present for Wellness Week?” “A lot of them are already Campus partners, some reached out because they had a service they thought would benefit students.”
“What are you hoping the participants of Wellness Week take away from it?” “We hope the participants take away some healthy habits for use in their daily routine.”
“Will there be another Wellness Week?” “Yes, every fall semester usually about the 5th week”
“How can I get involved or participate in Wellness Week?” “If you have an idea or booth you want to set up you can reach out to wellness committee, or you can show up during next year’s wellness week.”
