Mckenzie Connor is the Curriculum Specialist at Crowder College. She is in charge of the UConnect program.  “Uconnect is a learning model that has been adopted from the national model” siad McKenzie Connor.

UConnect is a program that helps students retention and help students graduate on time in the 2 years that it takes to complete an associates degree. To do this it UConnect has created a cohort. The cohort is a group of students that enrolled in the Fall of 2018 and have been enrolled in the same classes. The cohort will be completed in the Spring Semester of 2020. A new cohort will be started at the Cassville campus in the Fall 2020 semester. Ten people first signed up for the Neosho cohort and five people are still enrolled. That is a 50% retention rate. “All of them are still on track to graduate in the Spring of 2020” McKenzie said. The Webb City campus cohort started with eight and all 8 are still enrolled.

There is also a scholarship that is available. Each student of the cohort gets $250 for their first semester $350 for their second $375 for their third semester, and finally $500 for their fourth and final semester. This can stack with other scholarships as well.

Through the UConnect program students have a chance to earn scholarship money, get their associates completed in 2 years while taking set eight week classes with peers. The UConnect cohort is something that is statistically proven to be successful and will allow each student who joins a greater chance of success.
