Crowder Theatre presents the performance of Agatha Christie’s Murder on the Orient Express, Directed by NaTasha O’Brien-Davies.

Taking the stage nightly at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 21-22 and again at 2 p.m. on Oct. 23. Located at the Elsie Plaster Community Center, Neosho Campus. General admission is $10, for senior/students it’s $8 and children 2-12 years of age it will be $6.

More than 20 people auditioned for the roles in the play. All parts, technicians and crew members have been cast.

“I was so nervous when it came time to audition! It was my first audition in a few years, and I was thinking about it all day. But when the time came it was so much fun!” Said Madeleine Bell, who is playing the role of Hellen in the play.

“This is such a talented group of actors and actresses; this show is going to be amazing!” Bell went on to say.

Putting on a play is a big task that takes a huge team to succeed.

“Staging a production is a multi-level process. It could not be done without a team. Many of our actors are new to this theatre, so the learning curve has been larger on this production. We are blessed to have a collaborative production team with excellent communication skills,” stated O’Brien-Davies.

So, why Murder on the Orient Express? O’Brien-Davies said “Murder on the Orient Express a well-known title. After the Covid shut down, one of my major goals was to rebuild our theatre audience. A popular title is a fantastic way to get people into the audience. Production falls near Halloween, so the fun, murder mystery type of play was an appropriate choice!”

Everyone in the theatre department is ready for the production Oct. 21-23 and wanted to make sure everyone knew to come out and see the play.

“It’s exciting to have a full cast of people back on the stage again! We are doing our best to keep everyone safe and healthy during the rehearsal process, while also building community, problem-solving and having fun!” Davies mentioned.
