Campus Life is providing the opportunity for students, staff, and/or community members to rent out parking spots in front of Farber in order to sell their items for the Neosho City-Wide Yard Sale. The sale takes place April 6-7. To rent one parking space will be $20 and for 2 it will be $30. Tables will not be provided for the sale and the spaces are nonrefundable.
Campus Life Coordinator Mark Aubuchon says, “This is a great opportunity for students living on campus or community members living further from town to have a place to sell their things that is more convenient and accessible.” Aubuchon also said it may benefit students more to split the cost and sell their things together in one space, and that they could take turns sitting at the space in “shifts”.
If you are thinking about renting a spot, you may want to consider the following:
-Bring extra cash and coins to make change.
-Bring a table or sheet to place your sale items on.
-Bring food and drinks to keep you hydrated and satisfied throughout the day.
-If it is sunny, consider sunblock and/or an umbrella.
-Price your items reasonably.
-Do not bring items pertaining to tobacco, alcohol, drugs, weapons and/or adult materials as they are not permitted to be sold on campus.
-Sort your items by size and type to provide an organized sale space.
-If you split the space, keep a list of who sells how much so it is easier to divvy up the cash in the end.
-If you still have items leftover after the sale, consider donating them to consignment stores such as Goodwill, Red Racks, The Revolving Closet, etc.
