Prior to the fall semester starting, first-year Crowder students had the opportunity to attend Start Smart. This event was held on Aug. 21. Smart Start is a brief session in which staff and faculty members put together a program that allows students to discover Crowder and the things it has to offer.
“I knew where I was going [after attending Start Smart],” said Logan Hopper, freshman. “I felt like I knew more about the campus and where all my classes were.”
First-time freshman were encouraged to attend at least one session to get a feel for the upcoming semester. In the sessions, leaders, professors, and staff discussed how things such as Crowder Webmail and Blackboard works.
Students were able to figure out with exercises to help them around the on-line sites. They were able to find their classes and meet some of their teachers as well.
