This season, the Roughriders got off to a hot start winning their first six games, which got the team ranked #9 in the nation, the highest ever in program history.

“It was a great accomplishment for the program to reach that ranking,” said Steven Harrison, head coach. “We have been ranked almost every week this season and that it always a good thing for your program to be seen and recognized nationally.”

Crowder College’s soccer program began in 2008 as an NJCAA Division I sport. Even though the team has never won a championship, according to Harrison, he plans on turning that around.

“So far we have done well this season,” said Coach Harrison. “We got off to a great start and gave our guys some confidence. Over the past couple weeks we have been up and down due to injuries, but so far so good.”

“We are just working on team shape and playing as a unit on the field,”stated Harrison. “If we do that, we can have a special ending to our season. We are also just trying to manage things and keep guys fresh heading into the postseason.” “Our goal is to finish the regular season strong.”

“We also want to end the season nationally ranked,” Harrison said. “Our main goal going into the season was making the region final in back to back seasons and this time bringing home the championship.”

After the first six games the teams current record sits at 10-4.“We have a shot if we play together as a team,” stated Harrison.
