Q&A: CTEC advisor shares life moments

Jim Williams, CTEC advisor, talks about life’s little moments. 

Where did you graduate from high school? 

Seneca High School 

What made you decide on the job you have now? 

It was an opportunity to get to work with more students. 

What is your favorite thing about your job? 

Being able to make a positive impact in students’ lives. 

What motivates you to work hard? 

Knowing that what I’m doing is going to make a difference. 

What does your future look like to you? 

Retirement, this might actually be my last year. And we’re buying property with a venue on it to hold weddings and other things. 

What does family mean to you? 

They are the whole reason I wake up every morning and do what I do. They are my heart and soul. They are the people I would die for. 

What is your biggest accomplishment? 

I was able to finish and get my masters, and I’ve been able to help students through some difficult situations. 

What is an important message you would want others to know? 

Always strive to be great and do the best at whatever you’re doing. Reach beyond whatever you are capable of doing.  

What three words would you use to define your job? 

Never the same. 

What would you sing for karaoke night? 

Anything by Bob Seager, specifically Old-Time Rock and Roll 

If you could live anywhere, where would it be? 

I would live in Spring River, Okla. which is where I am moving. 

Who would you want to be stranded on an island with? 

My wife.  

What are two pet peeves you have? 

People putting themselves down and people not following the golden rule. 

How old were you when you found out Santa was not real, and how did you find out? 

I was around six or seven and the neighbors told me, and my mom told me they were right. 

What celebrity would you want to meet at Starbucks for a cup of coffee? 

John Wayne because he is the man’s man. 

What is one thing you will never do again? 

Work in a production plant 

What song best sums up your life?

What is something you wish would come back into fashion?

Got in a fight 

If there was a zombie apocalypse, would you fight or give up? 

I would fight, I got guns and stuff to survive.
