Why did you choose your major?
Honestly because I have always been interested in businesses and making deals and interacting with people. Once I did marketing at Scott Regional Tech in Monett, it just inspired me even more.
What made you want to open your own fashion line?
The inspiration comes from empowering women who do not feel comfortable in their own skin because it is always a struggle for some to find something nice to wear without feeling insecure.
What are some struggles you have endured so far?
That everything is online now and not on paper. I learn better on paper, and it is hard for me to focus online. It also does not help that I am broke.
What does success mean to you? And how will you try to achieve that success?
Success, the way that I know I succeeded will be when both of my parents have retired. I want to achieve that by getting my associate degree in business administration, bachelor’s degree in entrepreneuring, and then a master’s degree in international relations. Meanwhile, opening up my clothing line.
Who are your role models and why?
My role models would have to be my mom and my sisters, Ashly Flores and Sasha Flores because my mom raised me while being a single mom. I chose Ashly because she graduated with an associate’s degree and bachelor’s degree and encouraged me to go to college. Sasha because she opened her own car wash business and another business in Mexico.
What keeps you motivated?
My parents because they came to this country wanting a better future for me, so I would not have to go through the same struggles they went through.
How do you deal with stress?
I go to play basketball, or I listen to music. I also sometimes work on my business website.
Where do you see yourself at age 30?
By 30, I will be travelling internationally for business negotiations, I will be married and have 6 children, 4 of my own and 2 adopted.
How would others describe you?
A mother-like figure, very caring, stubborn, goal determined, outgoing, mature, and adventurous, great sense of humor.
What are things you enjoy doing in your free time?
Playing basketball, going on walks, reading, buying shoes, makeup, playing Call of Duty and Minecraft. I also like cooking.
What kind of clothes do you plan to include in your line?
I am going for more of a boutique theme. I want a little bit of everything, but I want to start off easy with shirts, sweatpants, and sweaters. I also want to try embedded clothing.
How do you take criticism?
I acknowledge it, I process it, and I will come to the conclusion on whether I need to change.
Do you plan to pursue further education after college? If so, what?
I plan to transfer to MSSU after getting my associate’s degree in business administration at crowder.
What would you name your clothing line and why?
Paulina’s because it was my deceased youngest sister’s middle name.
What are some of your pet peeves?
When people do not close the door, as it breaks my concentration and distracts me from what I’m doing. When I have to repeat myself multiple times, when people touch my stuff and do not put it back.
What is an achievement that you are proud of?
Graduating high school because I honestly did not think I was going to.
What is your definition of happiness?
When everybody including myself is at peace with no stress, and everybody is soothed.
Are there any current clothing stores that helped you gain inspiration?
At first, I was going for clothing similar to Rue 21 and H&M, but now I do not know. I want to create something completely new.
What are some qualities about yourself that you think would benefit the business world?
I like to interact with people, I am really determined and take my job seriously. I am a straightforward person with patience. I am also a fast learner.
What animal represents you best, and why?
A leopard because I like to do things fast paced and in order. They are also determined to get what they want. I can also match people’s energy and easily blend in with a crowd.
