Festival of Wreaths provides scholarships

The 17th Annual Festival of Wreaths, hosted by the Crowder College Foundation, will take place Tuesday, Nov. 12, at 5 p.m. in the Elsie Plaster Community Center. The community event ushers in the holiday season while raising funds for scholarships. The Festival of Wreaths consists of both a live and silent auction. The event has grown into an electronically integrated silent auction of more than 500 items as well as a live auction of around 40 items.

  • Enrollment is now open for all students planning to attend Crowder for the 2020 Spring semester.
  • The Crowder soccer team earned runner-up in the Region 16 Championship. Congratulations to: Daniel Doherty and Danny Maldonado – 1st team; Santiago Sanchez and Jacob Fallaize – 2nd team Region 16 honors for their efforts.
  • Crowder College’s Board of Trustees approved the establishment of an eSports team under the National Junior College Athletic Association Esports at its October meeting.
  • The Crowder Community Choir Christmas performance will be Tuesday, Dec. 3, at 7 p.m. at the Neosho United Methodist Church, 224 S. Wood, Neosho. For more information call 417.455.5634.
  • Crowder Theatre presents Frosty, Dec. 7, at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. in the Elsie Plaster Community Center. For reservations, call 417.455.5458.
  • Finals for Crowder College students will take place the week of Dec. 9 to 12.
  • Nevada campus and McDonald County campus are accepting applications now through Feb. 15 for the Registered Nursing programs. More information can be attained at 417.455.5552.
  • The commencement ceremony for fall 2019 Crowder graduates will be held Dec. 14 at 10 a.m. in the Bob Sneller Gymnasium.
  • The Crowder Quill art and literary magazine is now accepting submissions for its annual contest. Crowder students as well as area high school students and adult community members compete for awards and publication. Categories include art, photography, and writing. A free publication and contest, the Crowder Quill is celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2020. For more information, see www.CrowderQuill.com.
  • The National Technical Honor Society inducted 31 new students into their program on Nov. 11 for Crowder’s CTEC high school programs.
