Neosho’s finest Italian eatery

DeCarlo’s Italian Café in downtown Neosho offers the finest, and some of the only, authentic Italian food in the local area. Soon after discovering the little café, I found the place to be a great place for casual dining.

Nestled snuggly in the Neosho square, DeCarlo’s draws in plenty of customers from the several businesses downtown. For anyone looking for an easy, affordable sit down restaurant, DeCarlo’s is the place.

As a small, locally owned business, their hours are a little bit tricky to figure out. On Monday through Thursday, DeCarlo’s is open during the lunch hours, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. On Friday, they’re open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. to take care of lunch and dinner. On Saturday, they’re open exclusively for dinner, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. They are not open on Sunday.

The menu has a variety of options that rotate every day. There or some constants, like the Fredo, DeCarlo’s own version of customizable fettucine alfredo. Each day, they have a few unique specialty items available, and you can always find a delicious, authentic Italian option.

I was impressed with the service, speed, and freshness of the food. My food came out as soon as it was ready, making for a warm meal. My waitress was attentive and very helpful in explaining the menu and what options they had for my first visit.

DeCarlo’s takes wonderful care of their customers. Because it was my first time, I was offered free meatballs. I also received a ten percent discount as a Crowder student. My waitress was prompt, polite and made sure all of my requests were met.

The restaurant is inside a small entryway and down a short flight of stairs that leads to the basement. The long, bricked cellar has a warm, welcoming appearance. It’s location makes it a little bit difficult to find, but the experience is well worth it.

The prices at DeCarlo’s aren’t incredibly cheap, but they aren’t outrageous either. The prices are easily affordable, especially if you expect to get quality Italian food in southwest Missouri.

DeCarlo’s is a unique but exceptional addition to local restaurants. If you’re looking for a dependable restaurant with excellent service and Italian food, DeCarlo’s is certainly the place I would recommend.
