Carthage Maple Leaf Festival Parade
Carthage hosts its 53rd Annual Maple Leaf Festival Parade. The event includes activities for kids, a pageant, live music, and arts and crafts.
The parade begins at 9 a.m. Oct. 19. Pancake feed starts at 6 a.m. All other food and art vendors open at 8 a.m.

Crescent Hotel Haunted Tours
Appropriate for the spooky season, The Crescent Hotel hosts haunted tours of “America’s Most Haunted Hotel.”
Tours are held weeknights at 7 p.m. Weekend tours are hosted at 30 min. intervals 7 to 9:30 p.m. The hotel gives tours year-round.

Tri-State Spooklight
The Tri-State Spook Light, or Hornet Spook Light, of northeastern Oklahoma is an age-old local attraction that is attributed to many native legends. Most notably, residents believe the floating light to be a Quapaw Indian woman and her forbidden lover roaming the area after jumping to their deaths in the Spring River centuries ago.
The light appears along a four mile gravel road, known by locals as “The Devil’s Promenade” or “Spook Light Road.” in Oklahoma, East 50 Road.
Admission is free
The road is always open to the public, but locals advise visiting after dark for the best experience.
