Fall break for Crowder College fell on October 12. At Missouri Southern State University Their fall break was from October 15 to 16. For Missouri State University in Springfield, their fall break was on October 11 to 12. Crowder College may be a community college, but why do we only get one day off from classes? On a day that a majority, if not all, students don’t have class on regularly, it’s not fair.
“I thought it was stupid cause most of us don’t even have class on Fridays. Don’t even get me started. I set my schedule for work around school, I was wanting to get more hours but it’s the same and I was very upset,” Chelsi Atkinson, former Crowder student studying for her general studies explains her feelings towards fall break.
As a current student myself, I always look forward to fall break. It’s the first break we get during the school year. On this break, we finally get a day off to not think about school for a little bit and relax from homework. Every Friday, a majority of students don’t have class, so when fall break is only a Friday (1 day), it honestly doesn’t feel like we are getting a break.
“It had to do more with when if fell on the calendar, I don’t necessarily agree or disagree it’s just kind of when it fell on the calendar. I think that’s something ya know with your student government association to make that concern heard. But i think that’s definitely something that could be reviewed.” Explains Adam Morris from Academic Affairs about out fall break only being on a Friday.
