The Crowder College eSports team is hosting a day camp for anyone ages seven and up. The camp will begin at 8:30 a.m., Oct. 16, at the Neosho campus. An additional session will be held on Oct. 23 for anyone who is unable to attend the first session.

Ages 7-11 will be playing from 8:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. on Oct. 16, and ages 12 and up will be playing from 2:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 16 as well. The event is taking place at 601 Laclede Ave. Neosho, MO, 64850. “We are hosting this camp as a way to offer an opportunity for young gamers in the community to connect with new people… to meet people with similar interests, because they don’t always feel like they belong in typical social groups,” said Jackson Lewis, the eSports manager.

All participants are asked to provide their own equipment, such as game consoles, P.C.’s, and headsets. Free screens will be provided to all. The eSports team is only able to supply a limited amount of equipment.

Participants will have the opportunity to train and play with collegiate esports athletes, participate in a Camp Gaming tournament, as well as enter a gaming themed pumpkin painting contest. Featured games include Call of Duty, Minecraft, and Rocket League, among others.

Registration costs $50 per person, and limited spots are available. The eSports team encourages anyone that is interested to secure their spot soon. If questions, contact Lewis at 417-455-5453 or eSports@Crowder.edu.

“Our first camp in July was a huge success,” said Lewis. “We plan to offer three camps each year moving forward: a large summer event, and then smaller fall and spring events.” Additional information may be found at https://go.rallyup.com/esportscamp.
