Following the retirement announcement of President Dr. Glenn Coltharp, the board of trustees has announced that the search is underway for the next president of Crowder College.
The search committee intends to select semifinalists from the candidates in late October. Applications or recommendations are due by Oct. 20, 2021. They can be submitted to www.acctsearches.org, the Search Committee website.
Finalists will be chosen and announced in November and participate in open public forums. The board plans to announce a new president by early December.
The Board held Open Forums to get feedback from students, faculty and the community in early September. They used this feedback to create the Presidential Profile, a guiding document meant to list traits and capabilities that a Crowder president should possess. The Presidential Profile was finalized in September and is now available on the Crowder Presidential Search webpage www.crowder.edu/PresidentialSearch.
The Presidential Profile states that Crowder needs “A visionary leader who supports a culture of trust, shared governance, open dialogue, and collaboration that results in the empowerment of all stakeholders.”
“I think the most important thing to look for in a future president is that he or she needs to have the well-being of the students and staff as top priority,” said Crowder student Khalia Sherrod.
Dr. Glenn Coltharp became Crowder president in 2019 after spending seven years as Vice President of Academic Affairs at Crowder. He will retire at the end of the 2021-2022 school year.
