What is your major?
History
If you had a theme song for your life, what would it be?
A theme song? Oh gosh. “This Is Me” from The Greatest Showman.
Do you plan to transfer somewhere from Crowder?
Yes, I’m waiting to hear back from CofO [College of the Ozarks]. If I don’t end up going there, I’ll go to OBU [Oklahoma Baptist University].
What is your favorite time in history?
Early American or the World Wars.
Why?
Lots of different, new ideas cane after the World Wars and America was established. A lot of change happened: a lot of good change. It’s like our pride. Our nationalism.
If you could chose anyone in history to be your mentor, who would it be?
Too many. Rosa Parks is a big one. I’m a big fan of hers.
Do you have siblings?
Yes, I have six. A big family.
Are you most like your mom or your dad?
Hmm. Probably, I look more like my dad. And act more like my dad, I’d have to say.
What’s your dream job?
The first one is being a lawyer for the Innocent Project. Either that, or a museum curator.
What is the Innocent Project?
It’s a group of lawyers whose their main purpose is to look over criminals’ cases. Like if their case is solid enough, they’ll take the case back to court. They’ve helped so many people who were innocent.
What made you want to study history?
I love stories. I love learning about different cultures and my culture.
How has history influenced your life?
It’s influenced the way I view the world. And it’s encouraging to me because if they have courage and bravery it makes me want to stand up for what I believe in a little more. It’s a personal journey.
Do hot foods intimidate you?
Hot foods? Like spicy? Yes. I can’t handle spicy food.
So, you said you lived in Asia. Why is that?
My parents were missionaries. They built clinics. And my dad’s a doctor so he worked with them.
How long did you live in Asia?
Six months in Thailand. And one and a half years in Cambodia.
How old were you when you lived there?
In Thai I was four and a half, and in Cambodia I was eight.
What animal do you relate to best?
I would have to say a llama. I don’t know. Maybe a dog. Or a cat. I don’t know. In like those personality tests I was an otter.
What’s the biggest difference between homeschool and college?
There’s more time to do homework, but you have to make your own schedule. So I guess the freedom.
Is there a piece of clothing you couldn’t live without?
Shoes.
What’s your favorite drink?
My favorite beverage is coffee.
