Welcome to morning inspirations. I’m your host, Jesse Walls.
Today we’ll be discussing failure. Our first quote comes from Winston Churchill, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom during the Second World War:
“Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.”
Many times when we fail, we want to stop – we want to give in and quit. We allow one mistake to define us, giving us reason to stop trying. We don’t always recognize that failure is not the end, but rather a chance to try again. The seeds of success are sewn in failure, and to achieve greatness, we must accept times of defeat.
As in the words of American poet and essayist, Ralph Waldo Emerson:
“The greatest glory in living lies not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall.”
It may seem hard. The task ahead may seem difficult or impossible, but if we give up, we will never know how close we were to success. If we never try, we will never accomplish. We will fail more times than we succeed and if we are not failing somewhere, at some point – we are not truly trying. Life is about learning from our mistakes, not running from them.
My final quote comes from American politician Robert F. Kennedy:
“Only those who dare to fail greatly, can ever achieve greatly.”
