Anthony Maddox is a current student at Crowder College, majoring in Criminal Justice. He is wrapping up his freshman year this year. After Crowder, he plans on joining the military until his service is up and then he plans on joining the police force. “I have always wanted to help people,” Maddox stated.
He attended Clever High School, which was 20 minutes south of Springfield. He played baseball all four years and did track his senior year. “I have played baseball since I was a kid and it has been my favorite sport ever since. I might get some hate for this but my favorite team is the Houston Astros,” Maddox laughed.
Maddox was originally born in Texas, but moved to Clever at a young age. “I still have family that lives down there [Texas] and I visit them every year.”
When I asked him how he would describe himself he said “I am a pretty quiet person, I am not the one who starts a conversation with people but I can hold one. I like simple things in life like spending time with friends and family.”
He told me his plans over his extended summer break due to the coronavirus outbreak, he said, “Well so far I have been working but when I am not working I am either hanging out with my family or playing video games with my friends.”
I asked our friend, and his brother, David Maddox on how he would describe Anthony. He said, “It wouldn’t be like me to say something nice about him because we go at each other all the time at home, but at the end of the day, we are brothers and I know he has my back.”
If Anthony Maddox could be described in one sentence it would be a guy who likes to keep things simple and a guy who puts others before himself.
