Crowder College has a program to aid freshman throughout their college careers. The college received a Title III Grant, allowing them to establish Uconnect Cohort to guide students through all the ins and outs of college.

A “cohort” is “a group of students enrolled in the same courses, fostering an environment of collaboration and camaraderie”. They are all given  the same advisor, who helps them fill out necessary paperwork, ensures they are pre-enrolled in all their classes, and answers any questions they might have.

“[The Cohort] removes distractions so you can focus on life,” says Keith Zoromski, the advisor to the students involved.

All the students in the program are enrolled in the same 8 week classes each semester. This gives them all the exact same schedule, from their first day as a freshman to graduation. The degree students earn through the program is a General Studies degree, with a scholarship available that increases each semester.

The program began this 2018 fall semester, and has had success so far. It will continue in the upcoming spring semester, with plans to be extended to the Webb City Campus next fall semester.

Students are still able to join for the upcoming 2019 spring semester. If interested, contact Keith Zoromski by emailing him at KeithZoromski@Crowder.edu or calling 417-455-5766.
